One of the UK’s favourite wine brands, Gallo Family Vineyards, wanted a fresh new website to support its packaging rebrand and consumer activities in the UK, Netherlands and Germany.
Having developed their first UK and European sites several years ago, we were delighted to be asked to create the new one.
Key objectives of the site were to inspire consumers and position Gallo Family Vineyards as the wine for almost every occasion, whether relaxing with friends, unwinding at home or celebrating a family event. Content therefore focuses on ‘everyday wine moments’ with delicious recipe ideas, yummy cocktail concoctions, ideal food pairings, and suggestions for the best occasion to enjoy each wine from a BBQ to a date night or even just a quiet evening in with a film.
To keep the brand top of mind and help consumers identify their favourite wine in-store, each of the individual wine pages is colour-coded to tie-in with the new packaging design and features a large bottle shot. ‘Also try these wines’ prompts have been included throughout the site to encourage trial of other varietals and provide additional cross-selling opportunities.
We managed the whole website design and development from planning the initial site structure through to UX and UI design and build. A Drupal-driven content management system enables the in-house brand team to manage new updates such as product launches, cocktails and recipe creations, and was the ideal choice for the multi-language roll-out for the Netherlands and Germany.
